This online Search and Serve portal is an ongoing, cooperative effort that involves the Kern County Superintendent of Schools (KCSOS), local SELPAs, school districts, the Kern Regional Center and community agencies that provide services to children. This portal accepts and processes referrals from community members who suspect a child may have a disability. This portal also accepts requests from school districts, and other support agencies, for specialized educational support provided by KCC SELPA and KCSOS.

NOTICE: All parents/guardians that suspect their child may have a disability should contact their local school district to inquire about special education services.

• All referrals from the Community for children older than 2 years and 9 months will be forwarded to their local school district for review.
• Referrals for children younger than 2 years and 9 months of age and/or have a Low Incidence disability will be sent to an appropriate agency.
